IT’S BACK! UNLEASH YOUR INNER REBEL 2023 FEATURING INCREDIBLE SPEAKERS, WORKSHOPS AND SO MUCH MORE…

Manchester, Thursday 20 April: Unleash Your Inner Rebel, the conference from Manchester-based internal communications and employee experience consultancy CommsRebel, is back on Wednesday 14 June 2023 and is set to be bigger and bolder this year!

Author and communications expert Thomas Erikson, known for Surrounded by Idiots and Surrounded by Bad Bosses, is headlining the event. He will share his technique to communicate effectively with absolutely anyone!

Thomas joins an exceptional line-up of speakers, including ex-Newsnight producer Sam McAlister, who secured that infamous interview with Prince Andrew, and Nisha Katona, founder of Mowgli restaurants, who will talk about how she leads and engages her teams. See the full list of speakers here.

Unleash Your Inner Rebel, now in its second year, is for leaders in communications, PR, marketing, HR and operations. Collaborating and connecting to make a greater impact at work is the theme for the day. This year, participants can select workshops on topics like sustainability, inclusion, mental health, and behavioural science. And as we’ve come to expect from CommsRebel, there will be plenty of surprises on the day!

CommsRebel founder Advita Patel has put inclusion at the heart of the event. She says: “Unleash Your Inner Rebel is a different type of event.  We’ve handpicked our speakers, from a variety of backgrounds, so we bring diverse representation into the room, not only demographic but also cognitive diversity. In addition to the talks, workshops and breaks for curious conversations, we’ve created spaces for people to decide how they want to learn.

“It’s about choices. Not everyone thrives in the same way, so we want to make sure we provide different zones for those who prefer something different. For example, we have a quiet room for those who may experience sensory overload and a workspace for people to catch up on things, as not everyone can take an entire day away from work. We are also live streaming the event so people can participate if they are unable to travel. Even with the workshops, if our InnerRebel attendees don’t like the sound of the ones we’ve created, then they can create their own – as long as they are connecting, collaborating and conversing.”

For the second year running, Staffbase are the headline sponsors for Unleash Your Inner Rebel. Staffbase’s Lottie Bazley, says: “We’re excited to partner with Unleash Your Inner Rebel once again! The conference, which focuses on collaboration and connection, is closely aligned to our work at Staffbase where we also like to do things a bit differently. It’s going to be an inspiring event – and we can’t wait to hear from all the incredible speakers!”

And, Engage Solutions, who developed CommsRebel’s app, which has been downloaded by 400 comms professionals, is this year’s platform partner along with live streaming experts Kinura. Phil Wedgwood, Engage Solutions co-founder, says: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with CommsRebel to power the second year of Unleash Your Inner Rebel. This event embodies the spirit of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation that drives our work at Engage. We’re on a mission to put engagement at the heart of the business – to help people connect, communicate, and grow thriving communities through the power of our tech. We’re excited to see how this year’s event amplifies these connections and inspires new ways of thinking.”

Unleash Your Inner Rebel is also proudly sponsored by WorkVivo, VMA Group, We Are Resource, Workshop, The Culture Club, Little Bird Communications, JR Comms, Twist Consultants and Eleanor Tweddell. Tickets are now on sale and cost £499+ VAT for in-person. Visit the CommsRebel website for more information.
